A Phenomenological Study of Lifetime Adaptation Persons with Spinal cord injuty - Expertience in Transitional Rehabilitation service -

Abstract
The aim of this study is to phenomenological investigate the process and the meaning of experience in Transitional Rehabilitation Service (TRS) of persons with spinal cord injuries. In other words, this study phenomenological examines the nature of adaptations of life on the process in which they accept disabilities participating in TRS and prepare to return to the society, in order to understand the experience and the meaning. The meanings of the entire rehabilitation process and the experience in TRS derived from this study were converted to academic terminologies for the purpose of qualitative research, thereby analysing the process of adaptations of life in persons with spinal cord injuries.
Eight interviewees of the study participated in TRS are six theme categories extracted from records of in-depth interview during the period between 25th of June 2014 and 25th of May 2015,; adaptation to physical changes, adjustment to psychological difficulties, adaptation to physical environmental change, reestablishment of relationship, reestablishment of career, adjustment to new economic environment. Based on the result, practical implications and the need for a new rehabilitation system for the persons with spinal cord injuries were suggested in order for them to adapt to life better through TRS, leading to returning to the society.
